World Vision Process Aims to End Injustice and Poverty

A dental professional with over 40 years of experience, Sue Aber, DDS, supports the charity World Vision. Thanks to support from Sue Aber and others, World Vision is able to partner with families, children, and communities to fight injustice and poverty.

World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization established in 1950, focuses on helping people around the world as they overcome problems related to injustice and poverty. The goal is to bring fairness and equality to everyone through sustainable solutions.

To work with a community, a local World Vision representative asks questions of the community to learn which problems the community sees as most important. The World Vision team then works to resolve the cause of injustice and poverty with sustainable solutions like child protection, clean water, and economic development opportunities. Through this process, individuals in the community are directly involved and receive instruction in various approaches that can help their region. Between three and five years later, the team and communities look at the original plan to see how the goals are progressing. Through these efforts, World Vision intends to transform lives, communities, and the world.

The ADA's Mouth Healthy and Mouth Healthy Kids Websites

Sue Aber, DDS, owns and practices at Sue Aber DDS Family Dentistry in McAlester, Oklahoma. Engaged in her field, Sue Aber, DDS, holds membership with professional organizations like the American Dental Association.

Established in 1859, the American Dental Association (ADA) represents nearly 160,000 dentists across the United States. As part of its mission to provide the public with information on oral health, the ADA maintains the Mouth Healthy and Mouth Healthy Kids websites.

Targeted to adults, the Mouth Healthy website offers news and research on dental health as well as advice on maintaining teeth and gums. Among its many other features, the website also provides a tool to search by zip code for ADA member dentists.

Mouth Healthy Kids, on the other hand, delivers an array of fun and educational online features focused on teaching children about dental health and removing the fear often associated with visits to the dentist. In addition to videos and activity worksheets, the website has interactive games and tests like To Tell the Tooth, an animated, game show-inspired multiple-choice questionnaire.
